Remote Control Couch Caddy

After quite a break from crochet, here's a new pattern for you all!

I really wanted a place to hold all my remotes. As I have 2 tvs, a cable box, an apple tv and a soundbar, I have quite a few of them! Using bulky yarn, this pattern worked up super quick, and I love the neutral theme! This caddy is crocheted in a large rectangle, and then the rectangle is folded back over itself at the bottom so that 6 rows show when folded over. Then, the pockets are created by sewing up the sides and middle with the yarn and a tapestry needle. My couch arm is pretty wide, so if your couch arm isn't as wide, just crochet less total rows, but still use the 6 rows as the folding mark. This would also require less yarn overall.

Supplies:

-A little over 2 skeins of Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick Stripes in Moonlight (or similar size 6 super bulky yarn)

-Size 9mm or 10mm (M or N) crochet hook (depending on how tight you crochet)

-Tapestry needle

Directions:

**note: in this pattern, ch2 counts as first dc throughout, therefore I have you skip the first dc in each row.

Foundation row: Chain 28, turn.

row 1: DC in 3rd chain from hook, and each chain across. Ch2 and turn (26 DCs)

row 2: skip 1st DC, DC in each dc across. Ch2, turn. (26 DCs including ch2 as 1st DC)

row 3-34: repeat row 2. Finish off, leaving a long tail.

Assembling:

-Fold one of the short ends back onto itself until 6 rows show at the bottom as seen in picture. Pin in place along edges. Then, sew up each side with a tapestry needle using your long tail of yarn for one of the sides.

-Find the middle of this folded over section and place a pin where the top of the folded over part meets the under part (I apologize for not having a picture of this.) Then, sew up that section as well, sewing through both sides of the caddy. This creates 2 pockets.

-Divide each pocket in half visually, place a pin at these marks, and sew up the middle of each of these areas as well. You should end up with 4 pockets. (You can decrease the number of pockets if you have less remotes!)

Finish off and weave in all ends. Then tuck the non-pocketed side in between your couch arm and cushion and drape the pocket side over your couch arm. Fill with remotes (or snacks, or a beer, or whatever your heart desires!)

Let me know if you have any questions, and please remember: do not reproduce this pattern without crediting me or providing a link to my page! Thanks!

Enjoy! :)
